PPCLI 100th Anniversary Celebrations

Where: Queens Park - Veterans Memorial 

Time: 1030 to 1330 - Cadets to RV at Queen's Park for 1015

Transportation: None. Cadets must make their way to and from the activity. However, the RV point is a short walk away from Queen's Park TTC Station.

Food: Lunch will be provided. However, Cadets are reminded to bring personal water bottles.

Dress: Cadets must attend in full C-1 ceremonial dress uniform (with ribbons, if applicable)

Miscellaneous: This event will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI), an infantry regiment within the Canadian Armed Forces. The PPCLI, or the "Patricia's", were the first infantry regiment to enter the theatre of operations during World War I in France. 

This event will include a memorial baton relay team which will be travelling from Edmonton to Ottawa between 10 August and 18 September. The relay team will pass Cpl Ainsworth Dyer's (Cpl Dyer was one of the first four Patricia's killed in action in Afghanistan) gravesite in Cabbagetown to Queen's Park for a memorial service, and then to H.M.C.S. York. 

Cadets will be helping in support of this extraordinary event. Community service hours will be provided.
